    • With immense enthusiasm for future technology and a pioneering spirit,  our students, Laura LU and Rocket CHEN have been chosen to participate in the 2nd 'Dialogue with the Future' Youth Artificial Intelligence Education Wuzhen Salon at the 2025 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit.

      G9 Rocket CHEN,

"Absolutely the best Saturday of my life!"

      G7 Laura LU,

"I was incredibly excited to be selected! As one of only about 40 students chosen nationwide, this opportunity is particularly meaningful to me due to my strong love for technology."

World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit 2025, a premier global internet and tech event, features the youth-empowering 'Dialogue with the Future' Salon. For two of our students, this marks a unique journey from 'questioners' to 'problem-solvers,' going beyond mere academic exchange.

      Setting the Stage:

AI Task Packs Unleash Boundless Innovation

Before their Wuzhen trip, Laura and Rocket were given an 'AI Exploration Task Pack' to investigate ten AI challenges for the town. Topics like 'Smart Ancient Town Guardian' and 'Cultural Heritage Innovation Officer' sparked their boundless imagination for AI's potential.

Rocket vividly recalled the extensive experience, noting his 5,800 word journal entry on the variety of activities during this event. At the Wuzhen exhibition, he was amazed to see and even experience previously abstract sci-fi concepts like exoskeletons and bionic hands. He particularly marveled at a machine that read emotions from facial expressions, truly bringing science fiction to life.

Laura was enthusiastic about the blend of technology and culture, finding the integration of AI into the ancient town 'cool and meaningful.' She attributed her deep understanding of AI and the opportunity to attend the conference to our school's strong CCA courses in technology, AI, and robotics, alongside the school's 'alliance with technology' educational philosophy and VEX team background.

      Wuzhen On-site:

From Ideas to Actionable Future Solutions

At the Wuzhen event, they and their team crafted and showcased a 'solution from the future' for their chosen issue. This process married Wuzhen's rich heritage with cutting-edge AI, thereby fostering interdisciplinary thinking and practical problem-solving abilities vital for aspiring global citizens.

They chose 'human-AI collaboration' as their focus. Laura cited career uncertainty, fearing advanced AI's potential to displace many jobs and impact employment rates. This led her team to explore AI's future role with humanity. Group discussions split on AI's job-replacing potential: some envisioned a more advanced society, while others, like Laura, feared widespread job loss leading to higher unemployment and economic decline.

Rocket recounted an exhilarating interaction: during their report, he directly understood and engaged in a Q&A session in pure English with Silicon Valley founder Steve Hoffman, sharing his tech insights. Hoffman's repeated commendation of 'very close, very close' left Rocket feeling incredibly excited and amazed.

He further reflected that AI, while increasingly intertwined with our lives and set to replace repetitive, uncreative jobs, will simultaneously generate new roles that offer greater societal benefits. He questioned, 'Isn't our current effort in learning precisely for these better future opportunities?

Reflecting on their Wuzhen journey, both students remain deeply impacted. Laura excitedly shared her highlight: collaborating with students from diverse backgrounds. The positive feedback on their showcased solution significantly boosted her confidence in future learning and innovation.

Rocket, taking a broader view, summarized the invaluable experience: 'This event wasn't just about learning AI tech; it cultivated our ability to address complex future societal issues.' He added that Wuzhen, as a blend of tradition and modernity, deepened their understanding of how technology empowers humanity for a better, smarter life. He also cherished the rare opportunity to interact with students nationwide and engage in discussions with national academicians, which he found deeply honouring.
