These student-centered programmes are thoughtfully crafted to ignite each student's intrinsic motivation for self-directed learning and cultivate their creative thinking. Our goal is to empower students to confidently plan and realize diverse developmental pathways, establishing a firm foundation for their future excellence and remarkable achievements.

Our Elective Curriculum span diverse fields, from Entrepreneurship and Fashion to Performing Arts, STEM, and Visual Arts. They are designed to offer each student personalized pathways, deeply cultivating and unleashing their innate talents and potential.

01 Entrepreneurship 

This course draws its core inspiration from Oliver Twist, challenging students to develop projects around specific themes, locations, and historical contexts. From the initial stages of product branding (encompassing logo design, merchandise, packaging, or service concepts) to creating impactful visual promotions (like posters, pop-up exhibits, and interactive displays), students receive end-to-end guidance. Through active research, planning, design, and showcasing, they will gain practical experience in a real-world business environment, cultivating vital skills in collaboration, innovation, and engaging diverse audiences with their presentations.

02 Fashion

This course, built upon the foundation of the classic musical Oliver Twist, transitions students from passive viewers to active costume designers. By meticulously investigating the inherent connection between character and costume, students will discern how attire effectively conveys narrative elements, defines social stratification, and highlights individual personality. Structured around thorough research, precise sketching, and practical fabrication, the curriculum equips students to achieve an optimal balance of aesthetics and functionality, resulting in the production of a comprehensive professional designer portfolio.

03 Performing Arts

This course equips students with fundamental music theory. Inspired by the musical Oliver Twist and traditional Chinese folk songs, students will compose original pieces that seamlessly blend Eastern and Western elements. They will also design and craft unique musical instruments. Their creations will be showcased in school interdisciplinary exhibitions and provide the background and entrance music for the Oliver Twist final performance, dramatically enhancing their musical composition and practical application skills.

04 STEM

This course is designed to equip students with core programming skills, encompassing algorithm design, problem decomposition, and coding techniques. Through hands-on projects, students will master applying programming, 3D printing, and digital manufacturing to solve real-world production issues and creative challenges. Concurrently, they will foster efficient teamwork and clear technical communication abilities.

05 Visual Arts

This course aims to establish a solid artistic foundation for students, covering techniques such as drawing, painting, and mixed media, alongside in-depth exploration of art theory, composition, and visual storytelling. By engaging with stage production design challenges, students will hone their innovative problem-solving skills and develop essential soft skills like teamwork and effective communication. Furthermore, the curriculum imparts practical design techniques (e.g., stage design, scenic prop prototyping), graphic design, and marketing applications, helping students build an initial understanding of the creative industries and forge industry connections.

The annual culmination of the 2025-2026 Elective Curriculum will be a grand and landmark event: a school-wide stage production of Charles Dickens's classic novel, Oliver Twist, involving all students and staff.

This spectacular event is not only an unparalleled platform for students to integrate skills and artistic talents from their diverse electives, but also a vivid demonstration of transforming classroom knowledge into tangible, dynamic practice. It encourages every participant to be an active 'creator' and 'performer,' deeply experiencing the unique charm of art and practical application coming to life.
