    •  K2-K5

We implement the Yew Chung Early Childhood Pedagogy, which is research- and practice-based and incorporates an intercultural perspective. This approach focuses on teacher-child relationships and child-led inquiry, using methods such as emergent curriculum and multilingual teaching, among others, to promote children's learning and development.

Our school is equipped with excellent facilities, providing diverse creative space to meet the needs of students across all ages. Beyond supporting entry into desired universities, we thoroughly prepare students for life after graduation and a complex, changing future. The on-campus student dormitories offer 5 or 7-day boarding, creating a safe, comfortable living environment. This incorporates life education and social development components, fostering comprehensive student growth.

PART.02 HKDSE: Unlocking Diverse University Pathways

    01 About the HKDSE

The Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination, commonly known as the "Hong Kong Gaokao", is the university entrance exam established under Hong Kong's new secondary education system. Administered by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA), it is an international examination allowing responses in Chinese. Created as a result of the 2009 "3-3-4" reform, the HKDSE requires students to complete six years of secondary schooling (3 junior + 3 senior) for eligibility, awarding a certificate upon achieving qualifying results. Since its launch in 2012, the HKDSE has gained widespread recognition in Hong Kong, among numerous leading global universities, and increasingly by universities in the Chinese Mainland. Consequently, it serves as a high-quality pathway for mainland students to pursue higher education in Hong Kong or internationally, opening doors to top institutions worldwide.

    02 HKDSE Subjects

    • 4 Core Subjects: Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics, Citizenship and Social Development

    • 19 Category A Elective Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Tourism and Hospitality, English Literature, Chinese Literature, History, Chinese History, Visual Arts, Physical Education, Ethics and Religious Studies, Business, Accounting and Financial Studies, Geography, Design and Applied Technology, Health Management and Social Care, Music, Information and Communication Technology, Technology and Living

    • Typical Subject Combination:
Most DSE candidates take four core subjects plus two to three Category A elective subjects.

(Note: Categories B (Applied Learning) and C (Other Languages) are also offered but are less commonly taken.)

    03 Why Choose HKDSE?

    • Why Choose the HKDSE?

International Exam with Chinese Option Apart from English Language, HKDSE subjects can be answered freely in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, or English.

    • High Global Recognition
HKDSE results are accepted by all local universities in Hong Kong, numerous prestigious universities overseas (including Yale, Cambridge, NUS, etc.), and increasingly by universities in the Chinese Mainland (including many 985 and 211 s) for eligible candidates (e.g., holders of the Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Residents).

    • Flexible Curriculum & Manageable Difficulty
Compared to the mainland Gaokao, the HKDSE curriculum is flexible and open-ended, avoiding overly difficult or obscure questions. It emphasizes critical/creative thinking and self-exploration over deep single-point focus. There are no strict Arts/Science streams, allowing choice of any 2-3 electives.

    • Student-Friendly Application Mechanism
Hong Kong universities typically count the best scores from five or six subjects (depending on program), mitigating the impact of underperformance on exam day. Applications combining results from two sittings are also accepted.

    PART.04  GEZHI Class Teaching Features

    Feature 1: Tailored Instruction

631 Mixed Class Model | To effectively leverage the advantages of the diverse HKDSE subject selection, to align with the Hong Kong Joint University Programmes Admissions System's (JUPAS) two-tier scoring system (consisting of Institutional Scoring and Subject Bonuses), and crucially, to accurately identify and meet the individualized development needs of every student, we will implement the 631 Mixed Class Model. The details are as follows:

Proprietary Curriculum, Learning Materials, & Smart Question BankWe offer diverse Hong Kong Culture courses to help mainland HKDSE candidates master exam-relevant cultural content. To boost study efficiency, we also provide tailored materials for different revision stages: intensive notes (Stage 1), chapter analysis workbooks (Stage 2), and top-scorer notes from seniors (pre-exam).

In addition, for individualized student development, we link our question bank and grading systems. By analyzing questions missed or taking excessive time during exams, we generate practice recommendations for targeted correction and reinforcement.

    Feature 2: Career Pathway Planning

Career Pathways & University Guidance | Through facilitated visits to Hong Kong universities and our 20-hour self-developed course (covering major prospects, admission difficulty, and ideal student profiles), we enable students to build a nuanced understanding of prospective majors. Additionally, expert career planning tutors use JUPAS admission standards to reverse-engineer personalized higher education strategies.

Integrating analysis from HKU admissions, case studies, and senior insights helps build students' intrinsic drive. Through tightly aligned HKDSE and JUPAS systems, precise instructional design maximizes the strategic impact of every point.

Aligning Goals with Learning | Once specific university goals and required scores are set, we assist students in setting monthly milestones and progressively working towards their final objective.

Achieving monthly targets involves personalized plans with extra support, practice, and skill building. This grants meaning to effort and eases anxiety by managing the gap between goals and current ability through task breakdown.

    Feature 3: Tech-Driven Approach

AI-powered technology drives personalized teaching and management for the GEZHI Class. Our systems provide full-cycle support ("Career-Uni-Instruction") for goal setting, a smart question bank, AI error tracking, and cloud resources for content, and a personalized timetable for learning flow. An AI smart pen tailors exam rhythm, while a smart score calculator aids higher education goal mapping through HK major matching.

The GEZHI Class provides students with a phased HKDSE preparation plan spanning May 2025 to August 2026. It offers comprehensive guidance from admission and instruction through intensive exam practice, mock assessments, and personalized adjustments, to university application support.

    PART.06 GEZHI Class Faculty

    01 Student-centered

    A Blended Multiple-instructor Model

    • The local teaching team is responsible for delivering instruction on-site. This includes reviewing the overlapping syllabus content between the Gaokao and HKDSE exams (specifically for students transitioning from the Gaokao track), and assisting in covering the HKDSE-specific topics. Additionally, they implement personalized learning plans for students during self-study and evening sessions.

    • Secondly, the team of directors and teachers from Hong Kong is in charge of setting, marking, and grading internal school examinations. This ensures that the class's learning progress and assessment standards are consistent with those of local students in Hong Kong studying the same curriculum. Furthermore, they will directly provide students with analysis on examination techniques, insights into scoring criteria, and advice on managing their time and pacing during the exam.

    • Furthermore, a team of teaching assistants will support the supervision of the learning process. This includes, but is not limited to, overseeing vocabulary and sentence structure memorisation, following up on progress with single-subject practice exercises, and generating daily learning reports.

    • It is worth noting that, during the final sprint phase, the Gézhì Class will also bring in senior students who achieved outstanding results ("5*" or above) in individual subjects in the past two years. They will conduct one-on-one or one-to-two coaching sessions focused on refining techniques and optimizing exam rhythm, helping students to more effectively translate their knowledge and abilities into high scores.

    PART.07 Partners

Hok Yau Club, founded in Hong Kong over 70 years ago, has always been dedicated to "walking with students and caring for student welfare," consistently and actively addressing students' needs. In recent years, the club has focused on three key areas: student counseling, career planning, and holistic development.

Hok Yau Club is the officially designated body by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) responsible for distributing information on applying for bachelor's degree programmes at Hong Kong universities. Annually, it publishes 70,000 copies of the "Further Studies Guide for F.6 Students," covering over 97% of F.6 students in Hong Kong. Additionally, Hok Yau Club organises large-scale HKDSE mock examinations across Hong Kong at the end of November each year.

All students in the GEZHI Class will participate in the mock exams organised by Hok Yau Club. These examinations strictly follow the format, procedures, and marking standards of the official HKDSE, providing students with crucial practice and familiarity with the examination environment beforehand.
