Recently, five outstanding students from YWIES Tongxiang gained significant recognition at the '2025 Salute to The Masters' International Youth Art Exhibition. Their works, praised for unique creativity, exquisite skill, and rich imagination, stood out among global submissions and were successfully selected for the annual Outstanding Works Collection.
Salute to the Masters - International Youth Art Exhibition is an exhibition supported by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, which showcases the outstanding work of young artists from across the country.
Our students, with the unique perspective and boundless potential of their generation, have crafted a profound artistic creation: 'Liminal Mirrors: Reconstructing Self in Intersecting Time-Space.
More than just paintings, these works serve as unique 'liminal mirrors,' inviting us to explore the fluid boundaries of self – between inner and outer realities, the real and the virtual, the fleeting and the eternal.
Through their distinctive artistic language, our students profoundly investigate how identity is perceived and shaped within these transitional spaces, weaving in philosophical reflections on emotion, humanity's challenges in the digital age, and the cycle of life.
We warmly invite you to immerse yourself in these inspiring artistic expressions.
Fish Dance with Opera Diva G12 Yifan LIN
My work blends my deep love for Chinese culture with inspiration from Peking Opera and the auspicious carp. I integrated Peking Opera elements into a carp lantern design, aiming to capture dynamic vitality. During creation, I focused on the vibrant carp's form itself, meticulously observing its movements. Delicate strokes delineate its graceful silhouette and scales, subtly incorporating iconic Peking Opera colors to infuse the piece with vibrant life and rich cultural essence.
Coffee with Van Gogh G6 Celine CHEN
Inspired by my deep admiration for Van Gogh, this watercolor envisions him enjoying a serene coffee by Shanghai's rainy Oriental Pearl Tower, traversing time. The piece skillfully blends classical and modern aesthetics through color and composition, celebrating art's boundless, time-transcending imagination.
My Vision of Shanghai G6 Sunny SHI
My artwork, inspired by Shanghai's landmarks, contrasts the Bund's history with Lujiazui's modernity. Ancient Yu Garden blends with blooming magnolias, creating a dialogue of eras. Food elements further depict Shanghai's bustling, diverse charm.
My Shanghai G5 Mia WANG
Inspired by my observations and love for Shanghai's urban landscape, my painting uses vibrant colors and rich details to showcase the harmonious blend of its traditional and modern architecture.
A Magical Shanghai Journey G4 Curtis Edward JACOBSON
Inspired by my unique impressions of Shanghai, my painting vividly captures the city's fascinating architectural landscape I observed.
This recognition is both a profound tribute to classical art and a powerful affirmation, inspiring the potential of our school's next-generation artists. Their unique voices on the international stage validate the deep significance of cross-cultural artistic exchange, and will continue to ignite their passion for art, broaden their global perspectives, and cultivate their ability to create and engage in dialogue across diverse cultures.
